Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the Smith Valley Fire Protection District to protect the citizens of our District and their property from the effects of fire, accident, natural or man-made disasters and to provide pre-hospital emergency services.  Our mission will be accomplished with respect and compassion for the people we serve and concern for the well being of our members.



At our regular membership business meeting on Wednesday, 1/20/2010, Mr. Irvin Hall, Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8088 in Smith Valley presented Firefighter Bill Park with the 2009 Firefighter of the Year Award and Certificate of Appreciation.  He next presented Captain Mike Nuti with the 2009 Emergency Medical Technician of the Year Award and Certificate of Appreciation.

These awards recognize our two fine volunteers for excellence in leadership, proficiency and outstanding service to community.  To date, Bill Park has donated over 44 years and Mike Nuti has donated over 20 years of service.  Their unwavering professionalism, experience and dedication to unselfishly providing 24 hours a day - 7 days a week emergency response in fire suppression, resource and emergency medical service to the citizens of Smith Valley.  We are proud and honored to have people of this caliber in our District!
